Diving into Dating Waters

Diving into your waters

Headfirst

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

They were deep murky waters.

Yet, I dove in without inhibitions.

With only a glimpse of what was below.

I jumped in.

I knew what I was getting myself into.

Trust.

Waters clear and free-flowing.

Acting as a refresher.

Quenching curiosity with each deeper dive.

Itโ€™s so much better when the waters are calm.

Navigating the dark core with confidence.

Then suddenly those waters treat me as a stranger.

Mistrust.

Forgetting itโ€™s been my body that acts as the shoreline it crashes onto.

What was once warm and calm is now cold and tumultuous.

Icy.

Bits of ice that were out of perspective when we began this journey.

A journey of two lovers longing for more from the other.

Too scared to be honest for fear of loss.

Withholding truths to protect someone from a world where you were different and leading with hurt.

How do you keep the lights on when youโ€™re at the bottom of someoneโ€™s ocean, in the dark?

How do you escape the darkness?

Start with honesty.

Mix in some love.

Apply it to self.

Honesty is light and love is the way through fear.

And the sum of the two is a life filled with warmth and light.
